Matt,

Thanks so much for sharing that.

I know exactly what you mean... we men, for some reason, DO connect our work with our self-image very strongly and when the work is over, sometimes we feel that WE are over. You and I are proof that that isn't so, though sometimes we, too, may have felt that.

Were you also able to see my short video Where Did The Dream Go? It is aimed directly at the man who finds himself fired from a job and those seeing it tell me that it really hits a nerve (which is truly a wake-up item that we must take charge).

Thanks again for sharing.

Charlie:

Thanks for sharing & caring!

I think if a man/woman live/work for someone else long enuff they are bound to experience the pain of being let go at least once in their career.I think it is so hard for many reasons(lack of$, fear of unknown, stress on family etc,,)...BUT for me(& I think especially a lot of MEN) the hardest issue (the 1st time) was a feeling of worthlessness Because I IDENTIFIED who I was as a person with my J-O-B(Way too much)...that was a Hard lesson to go thru & REALIZE I am more than my JOB(actually that is just one thing in my life I do)

I have just experienced my third go around in this arena (3x in 30+ years) this past Feb....Though I know how to deal with this better having been knocked down B4 + I have a home biz on the side this one was Painful because I believe I was actually betrayed & lied against because other co-workers & mgt. were afraid of me(well that is a story for another day)

At any rate one must learn to Go on & realize as the saying goes "When God closes a door he opens a window"...we MUST not bury our heads in the sand or we will miss opportunities that may come our way.

Thx for letting me share!
