<p>Everything that happens between you and a client must remain just between the two of you.</p>
<p>Think of it like the doctor-patient confidentiality. (Do I REALLY want all the neighbors to know what prescriptions I&#039;m taking? No way&#8230;)</p>
<p>If a client is to be happy with you and trust that what he says remains between the two of you, he will open up and tell you what you need (so you can do the best job to help him) when he completely trusts that you will protect that information and not give it to anyone else.</p>
<p>However, if he does NOT feel that confident in you, he will hold back and you won&#039;t be able to do your best work.</p>
<p>Think of THIS too &#8211; when you tell details about some of your other clients, you  can be assured that your client is thinking &#034;If he will tell me about his other client, who is he going to tell about ME?!&#034;</p>
<p>You NEED for your clients to be open with you, so treat everything they say as confidential, and you&#039;ll be safe!</p>
<p>And so will they!</p>

<p>Have you ever taken &#034;stock&#034; of all the promises you make people when running your business?</p>

Producing work on time</p>
<p>Delivering the BEST work possible</p>
<p>Creating a product or service that they can depend on no matter how many times they hire you</p>
<p>Generating great work for all the leads they give you, so that THEY look good in the eyes of their friends and clients when they recommend you
</ul>
<p><strong>What&#039;s MOST important is delivering the SAME great quality every time. </strong></p>
<ul>
<p>When we buy a car, we expect the quality to be as good or better as the last one.</p>
<p>When we ask our accountants to do some work for us, we expect the same high quality of work (there are NO excuses for &#034;fair&#034; work)</p>
<p>When we get our hair cut or a portrait photograph created or need our house painted, we come to depend on the same quality time and time again from those people with whom we do business.
</ul>
<p>And if that quality slips, it&#039;s easy for us to take our business elsewhere&#8230; JUST as it&#039;s easy for our clients to walk away from us.</p>
<p>So &#8211; do GREAT work EVERY TIME and build up the trust your clients have in you.</p>

<p>Take the Sunday newspaper in your area, open to the real estate section, hold it at arm&#039;s length, and squint just a bit so the page blurs.</p>
<p>What do you see?</p>
<p>Everything looks exactly the same, right? NOTHING stands out.</p>
<p>We need to stand out. What we DO needs to be different, the way we approach our marketing needs to be different, and our company name need to be different.</p>
<p>OK&#8230; I can hear you now: what about IBM or Dell&#8230; THOSE names aren&#039;t different, extraordinary, unusual.</p>
<p>You&#039;re right: but they have millions of dollars in institutional advertising to throw at the public to get their name known.</p>
<p>Don&#039;t let your company name be CONFUSING or funny or childish&#8230; but set yourself apart from others. </p>
<p>Think what it takes to set you apart, to get people to notice you, to get them to remember your name.</p>
<p>Then hold it out at arms length to be sure it&#039;s different, interesting, catchy.</p>
<p>&#034;You can&#039;t tell a book by its cover,&#034; people often say&#8230; and that&#039;s because that&#039;s EXACTLY what people do!</p>
<p>Be sure YOUR cover attracts people and keeps them paying attention to you.<br />

<p>How does the word get out about a music group that is just starting?</p>
<p>The same way it does for one that has been around for a while: tell the world about them.</p>
<p>So it&#039;s your turn to learn about <b>Combust</b>!</p>
<p>No, don&#039;t use expensive advertising (institutional advertising that the group can&#039;t afford) but rather Social Media Marketing and direct response marketing that sends out the message and expects a reply back.</p>
<p>I knew many of the members of this band and was excited to go when invited. I grew up in Swarthmore, PA USA and went through the school system. </p>
<p>And it&#039;s terrific to see these young folks playing so well and with such great enthusiasm.</p>
<p>Gabe Kroch, Ravi Culleton, Ian Morse, David Glanzman, and Caitlin Vanderwolf (who, unfortunately, had another engagement last night but she&#039;ll return to the group soon).</p>
<p>Hot new sounds in their original pieces and great rendition of a cover song. </p>
<p>Here is a &#034;short&#034; from some photographs I created last night. More will come &#8211; you&#039;ll hear more about this group!</p>
