Charlie's Weemee

Did you ever start a project, set a deadline, and no matter what you did you couldn’t meet the changing deadlines?

I’m a very punctual guy: if going to a business meeting or a date with my wife, I’m there on time and ready.

And when I set up a calendar, I get things done on time.

So you can imagine my frustration when working on my Say It So They Buy It project when I just couldn’t get it finished.

Shopping cart issues. Kept thinking of more things to add to it to give more value. Kept putting myself in the shoes of people just starting out with turning their words into gold and thinking about what THEY’D want in something like this.

But now it’s ready. I won’t say “finished” because I feel that this is just the beginning for this project. I feel a much fuller, highly priced project jumping out of this one. I’m giving away so much for such a low cost as I begin this project, and I feel more being added and turning it into a whopper.

But for NOW… it’s ready. More below, but here’s the link to see what I’ve done – Click Here To See Now!

Why Is English So Illogical?

We need to write well so that people understand us.

But those writing to US have a really difficult time if not born and raised in the USA, be cause English (and American slang) is really quite difficult.

Here’s what the Little Book Of Big Questions says:

Our language is a hodge-podge of prefixes, suffixes, and roots from several languages. As a result, we have endless combinations with contradictory meanings.

- We drive on parkways and park on driveways.
- Our apartments are stuck together. Our houses stand apart.
- Our airplanes have “near misses” when they have not collided at all.
- The plural of tooth is teeth, but the plural of booth is not beeth.
- The plural of mouse is mice, but the plural of noose is not nice.
- A slim chance and a fat chance mean the same. So do inflammable and flammable.
- But a wise man and wise guy are contradictory.
- Button and unbutton are opposites, but ravel and unravel mean the same.
- We spell the same “f” sound four ways: fun, gruff, phone, enough.
- Then we take the same word spelled the same way and pronounce it to mean different things: recover and re-cover.
- If a skater skates, a singer sings, a painter paints, and a teacher teaches, why doesn’t a violinist violin?

It’s a wonder we communicate at all!

- I tell people that I’m “on a deadline” so that I won’t be asked to waste time that I should be working toward my goals.

- I gave you a tip that I got from Dan Kennedy years ago: Only accept SCHEDULED telephone calls from clients.

- I presented something that I’m “famous” for (and the envy of many of my friends stuck in a “job”): my DPS Time – Dreaming, Planning, Scheming.

- I told you about SKYPE.

- I told you to stay away from TV, radio, newspapers, etc until late in your day – keep your engine running well with positive, uplifting, spiritual or meaningful messages instead.

- I suggested that you watch other industries, not just your own.

- I said that you should join a local business group to stay in touch with others.

- You also read about Setting Up A Blog.

- And I urged you to use video in a blog.

Today I urge you to start writing. Sales letters, ad copy, postcards, online sales letters and follow up pages.

Copy writing can be the most lucrative skill you ever learn. Turning your words into gold is valuable for all of us and it’s something we can do at 18 or 88 (or even more!).

We might not be able to climb mountains or dig ditches or even lug heavy camera equipment around when we get older, but WRITING is a skill that can make us money for a LONG time.

And online, it’s how we sell. Oh, sure: video works pretty well too… but little beats carefully chosen words to get people to do what we WANT them to do.

So study, practice (LOTS of writing is great practice), and see what other successful people are doing and do it too. And then go make lots of money.

The Way My Daughters Reacted, You’d Think I Suggested PORNO

Social Marketing… is it really working or is it just wasting time?

Proctor and Gamble sure think it’s working.

I blogged about this the other day and you should read it. See the post and the short video about how they have completely changed the way they aimed their marketing at 13 year old girls who are beginning to need their feminine products.

My daughters really teased me about my headline which made it sound (to them) that we are targeting 13 year old girls. Well… I’M not but P&G has made a science of it and you should discover what they did.

I won’t repeat all I wrote above nor all that’s in my post. The Way My Daughters Reacted You’d Think I Suggested Porno – Read Charlie Seymour Jr’s blog post here!

What Men Want in a Relationship
by Coach Rinatta Paries

Get the full article here.

This is good information for both men AND women. Share it with a loved one as this series continues!
Rinatta Paries writes that she discovered a stark contrast between what each sex thinks the opposite sex wants from them, and what the opposite sex really does want.
What women think men want from them causes women to have resentment and anger toward men, and feel hopeless about ever developing a wonderful, warm, romantic partnership. What men think women want from them causes them much of the same feelings and frustration.
The sad part is that it does not have to be this way, if only we would realize that both men and women are human beings first and pretty much want the same thing. But, you don't have to take my word for this.
She asked a number of men and women who are actively involved in personal growth and development what they want from a partner in order to build a great relationship. You will find their answers unexpected. Discover what men said they want from women as contrasted with what women think men want. You'll also find tips for women to give men what they want, attract a great man, and create a wonderful relationship.
1. Men want honest, timely, loving communication.
Honest communication is top priority for men. They want a woman who answers questions honestly, and perhaps even volunteers information. They want a woman who confidently asks for her wants and needs to be met. They want a woman who can see the truth and tell it like it is while communicating with kindness. Men want a woman who can communicate without being too critical, who cares about preserving his and her dignity.
Women think men want them to be superficial, to keep quiet about their needs or wants, and never to ask for anything. Women think men believe them to be too needy and too sensitive, and that men simply want women to get over it. Some women believe they do not have the permission to tell it like it is, that they will be rejected for speaking up.
**A Tip for Women**
Great men want and need straightforward, courageous communication without anger or criticism. One way to attract a great man and build a satisfying relationship is to learn how to communicate your truth and needs effectively.

Here’s something amusing, if not “funny.”

The Washington Post has also published the winning submissions to its yearly contest in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words. And the winners are:

3. Abdicate, v. To give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4. Esplanade, v. To attempt an explanation while drunk.
