Podcamp Boston 4
Wow… what a great few days on the waterfront in Boston, MA USA.
Podcamp Boston 4, also known as #PCB4 (and believe me LOTS of people used Twitter over the weekend – you can see the most current days of tweets when you search twitter for #pcb4), was a terrific success on the beautiful UMass Boston campus. People came from near and far (I traveled from Philadelphia, PA USA to get there) to share their knowledge and questions about the state of the art of podcasting (lots of Web 2.0 topics, really). Older daughter, Stacie Finnegan, and I had dinner together in South Boston on Friday evening and then it was all Podcamp from then on.
Listen as I describe some of the lessons I learned over the extended weekend. The campus is idyllically situated along the water near Dorchester (and not far from the Boston International Airport), and short trips along the Red Line of the MBTA made it easy to get in and out of the city.
See Scot – the Professional Frisbee player (and teacher of Art – and a fine artist in his own right) – and Ron (RonAmok.com), and many more. And then search Twitter for even more comments.
This podcast is a part of my WalkAbout Marketing series and I focused today on the lessons of PCB4 and my visit to Boston. Go here to listen: http://bit.ly/qyIDy

How Can YOU Become A Professional BloggerHandling two of the Top 10 ways each week so that YOU can become a professional blogger (OR learn from professional bloggers so you can improve HOW you blog), here are the first two I’d like to suggest: 1. It is an obvious one but you need a blog. Not just any blog but an easy to read, easy to navigate, optimized for the search engines blog. That’s what I have at Ultimate Dads Success – The Blog of UltimateWorkAtHomeDads.com It’s built on WordPress and I use a purchased service on top of it that automatically gets it ready for search engine optimization. You can write me if you want more information on this – it’s a bit more complicated than this article will allow me to write.) You spend time writing great content and it will all go to waste if no one can find you so take a look at your blog and begin to look for ways that you can get it to work better for you. 2. Professional bloggers see everything they do as a business and understand the importance of planning ahead, knowing their target market, creating systems, and working towards set goals and targets based upon where they want their business to take them. Personally, I’m on a defined schedule. I don’t go to bed on Mondays until my 4 blogs and ezine are written. I can add more during the week and I always add two WalkAbout Marketing podcasts and a note on Facebook, but my minimum work on Mondays is 4 blog posts. See yourself as a marketer who blogs and you’ll go much farther than if you see yourself as a blogger who does some marketing. If you have a favorite marketing method and will share it with all of us, I'll be sure to include your name and contact information here in our Ezine. Share Your Marketing Ideas Here! |

Twitterquette – Etiquette for using Twitter
Ryan Miller (@ryancmiller) writes about Twitter and here are some of his thoughts:
He says that with Twitter being talked about so much it’s clear that lots of people have jumped onto its bandwagon (using its bandwidth) including people like Oprah and President Obama (or at least his ‘team’).
But most people don’t know how to use it… as well I know since I have to teach my clients how to use it… and even how to THINK about it (you know, “WHAT IS TWITTER?” is often a question I get).
I explain that it’s like having a party-line on phones in the 1950s, it’s listening over the backyard fence to hear what your neighbors are chatting about and then entering the chat with them. It’s “headlines” for marketing people, suggesting blog posts to read if someone is interested in the headline. And it’s a giant search engine (all you need to do is plug in a keyword and up pops all those who chatted about that same work over the past week).
So though there is no RIGHT way to use Twitter (and we’re all still on the learning curve about how to use it even BETTER), here are some of Ryan’s thoughts:
1. BE NICE – Its a big big world out there with so many cool people talking about every topic imaginable. If you like what someone is saying, Follow them. Just dug a good article they wrote on their blog? Leave a comment, or tell others about their post. Its just good manners. Likewise, if they Re-Tweet one of your messages or link up your blog post, give a shout out or just say thanks. It goes a long way.
2. The Art of the Retweet – Retweeting is really effective way to spread good information quickly. Really quickly. I’m a re-tweet-aholic. There are so many great links I see from people I’m following that in many cases, the people that follow me would also dig. So you Retweet. It keeps the links flowing and helps good ideas get exposed to tons of people.

Previous topics include: - I tell people that I’m “on a deadline” so that I won’t be asked to waste time that I should be working toward my goals. - I gave you a tip that I got from Dan Kennedy years ago: Only accept SCHEDULED telephone calls from clients. - I presented something that I’m “famous” for (and the envy of many of my friends stuck in a “job”): my DPS Time – Dreaming, Planning, Scheming. - I told you about SKYPE. - I told you to stay away from TV, radio, newspapers, etc until late in your day – keep your engine running well with positive, uplifting, spiritual or meaningful messages instead. - I suggested that you watch other industries, not just your own. - I said that you should join a local business group to stay in touch with others. - You also read about Setting Up A Blog. - And I urged you to use video in a blog. - You were urged to improve your writing online – it’s easy when you learn how! – I told you that people ask me if they should put their videos on YouTube and other video-sharing sites and I said Yes… and No! – I showed you how to create a Marketing CAMPAIGN every time to market something. - I presented information about the service you sell vs. a product. - When things go wrong around your home was a topic. - Then there was the topic of finding materials to blog about. - We chatted about emailing from your phone. - Here’s a fun one I’m just discovering: video from your cell phone. While at Podcamp Boston 4 I used my new cell phone to capture some short videos and send them instantly to my profile on Facebook. People following me saw the videos on my profile OR on the “home page” as information scrolled by. The video is large enough to be seen on Facebook, but I’d never do a feature-length video from the phone. And the format is MP4, so I can edit the videos later if I choose to. Think about it. You just attended a great meeting, you grab one of your buddies, you interview him for 45 seconds, and you send it to your Facebook profile. Since, easy, quick: and the video stays with your profile in your video section AND people following you now have your information brought to their attention AND they know that you have been busy. VERY easy way to keep your name and face in front of your “herd.” To learn more about one of MY products, Click Here! What do you find toughest about working on your own? One Way Links Into Your Site To Boost Traffic "Get Thousands Of High Quality, One Way Links To Your Website! For Tons Of Affiliate Tools Increase Your Google Ranking By Getting Tons Of High Quality, One Way Links To Your Website!" Would you like a top Google ranking? And not only that… but would you like to KEEP your top ranking for many years after you get it? See, that's the problem with many search engine tactics these days. If you finally did manage to get a top ranking, you'll likely lose that ranking shortly therafter. To be quite frank, this sucks. This is not what anyone wants to happen to their website and business, especially after putting forth all that work to get the top ranking in the first place. Now, let me let you in on a little secret, shared by Brad Callen. It's actually not that difficult to get a website to the top of the search engines AND keep it there, with very little, if any "maintenance work" after you claim the #1 position. The secret is to get lots of high quality, high page rank websites to link to your website. While that in and of itself isn't really a huge secret, what I can tell you is that we've figured out a way to easily, and almost instantly get over 1,700 super high quality, 1 way links to point to our website(s) in less than an hours time. No kidding! And best of all, it takes very little work. To learn more about this incredibly easy way to get TONS of quality, one way links, visit the link below: That's how Internet software wunderkind Brad Callen describes this product. I have NOT used this product yet, though keep hearing great things about it. Brad has created many top-line products to help us create thriving businesses on the Internet, and like all his products it's guaranteed (or all of your money back). If this sounds like something you need, if you want lots of links pointing to your site, this is the product for you. For Many One Way Links Pointing To Your Website, Click Here! |

Differences Between Men and WomenPeople in relationships often have strong expectations that their partner will be just like they are: exhibit the same attitudes, values, perceptions, and behaviors. However, we know that you will not change your partner's attitudes and behaviors unless they themselves are motivated to do so. You are even less likely to change their basic gender characteristics. So it is very important to educate yourself as to the basic gender differences which exist between men and women, and accept the fact that the differences are there, they are real, and they are not going away. In this way you can learn to use the differences as a way to enrich your relationship rather than to damage it. Are Men and Women really different? Let's look at the evidence in a variety of areas of life. Note that these findings are generalizations and summaries that apply to most men or women, but not to all men or all women. 3. VALUES AND SELF ESTEEM AS ADULTS • A man's sense of self is defined through his ability to achieve results, through success and accomplishment. Achieve goals and prove his competence and feel good about himself. WOMEN: • Women value love, communication, beauty, and relationships. Did you just hear something from a woman and thought it needed translation? Did you recently say something that was totally unintelligible by your spouse?
