Ultimate Dads Success Ezine 021
Fathers of Fathers
No one said that getting old would be easy. My mom says, “Getting older’s a bitch.”
Others say that getting older isn’t for sissies.
If you have elderly parents, you understand what I mean.
As Liz is planning a wedding and looking to buy her first house, Stacie is heading to Ireland for a few days of sightseeing before starting her new job, my folks are struggling with health issues.
Mom was just in the hospital because she was anemic. She has pains in her back and legs, and uses vodka to forget much of what goes on in the day.
It’s not pretty.
My younger sister, who retired from teaching at still a young age, goes to doctors’ appointments with Mom and Dad because they can’t seem to remember the information correctly any more. Prescriptions were being fouled up, Mom’s ulcerated esophagus was creating many problems, and it seems that once a week they have a doctor’s appointment or go to a memorial service for a friend who has died.
And they just celebrated 62 years of marriage – and it was great to see people at church and at “The Home” (as Mom calls it) cheering them along.
It’s tough watching much of this. I’m glad we still have them, I’m glad they’re being open with us and telling us what is going wrong (so that I can keep my own kids informed, lessening the surprise at the end AND the surprise when medical problems afflict me when it’s my turn)… but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch.
When I ask God for help and guidance, I always ask to make Mom and Dad’s last months with us a happy and as pain-free as possible.
And I hope they are.

How Can YOU Become A Professional BloggerHandling two of the Top 10 ways each week so that YOU can become a professional blogger (OR learn from professional bloggers so you can improve HOW you blog), here are the first two I’d like to suggest: 3. Becoming a professional blogging is all about mindset – so find something you really want to write about and tell yourself that this will take some real work over and over, week after week. You need to focus on staying motivated to succeed with a desire to achieve the goals you set – no one can do that for you (or for me): you just have to SEE the outcome and know that your daily work is getting you closer. A professional blogger will have a vision of how his/her business will benefit their lifestyle and will work towards achieving that vision, never giving up, especially when life becomes challenging. If you have a favorite marketing method and will share it with all of us, I'll be sure to include your name and contact information here in our Ezine. Share Your Marketing Ideas Here! |

Twitter has problems
Stay tuned!
Twitter has been under attack and may or may not survive on its own.
Rumors had Google buying Twitter, but those didn’t seem to come true, at least not as of this writing.
And Google Wave has BIG plans for microblogging.
And Facebook has added to its search capabilities and is gunning for Twitter.
Do I think you should still use it for your marketing: ABSOLUTELY.
And watch here for changes if and when they happen. I’ll let you know!
More next week!

You should go to the site, search it for the type activities that interest you, and get them to send you emails when a group like that holds a meeting near you. I added LOTS of meeting ideas to MY profile… and set the distance range at 100 miles. Would I drive 100 miles for a morning coffee chat about blogging? Probably not. Would I drive 100 miles for a Podcamp or larger group meeting that only meets infrequently? Absolutely. And after you join a couple of groups, it might be time to start your OWN group – get people talking about what YOU want to talk about – who knows, it might be a great way for you to get new clients or mastermind members. And when you DO go to MeetUp.com, be sure to Friend me… let’s build on our relationship here, ok? To learn more about one of MY products, Click Here! Blogging – Did You See Julie And Julia?
My wife, Pam, and I saw the movie Julie and Julia starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, and I thought I should blog about it.
It is a movie about the life of Julia Child AND the life of blogger, Julie Powell in writer-director Nora Ephron's adaptation of two true stories: Julie and Julia by July Powell and My Life in France by Julia Child.
The story lines are interwoven and the two never meet, being separated by time and locations. (The way the story is told reminded me of Cabaret which was originally written as two stories (inside the Cabaret and then the story about Sally Bowles) which was meshed together by legendary director-producer Harold Prince like the fingers of your hands when clasped together.
Julia is the world-famous American chef and Julie is the completely unknown blogger in the early turn of this century when blogging wasn't really known. (I admit that MOST people STILL don't know what blogging is, but since you are reading this YOU do… but in 2002 or 2004, I have a feeling you didn't know what it was!)
Why focus on this movie in this blog?
Because Julie found something that interested her and she started writing. She didn't know if she'd find an audience, she didn't search thousands of keywords, she didn't probe deeply into Google to see if she'd gain traction: she just started writing.
And NOW look at her success.
My parents, in their late 80s, love the movie and so did Pam and I. I, however, saw it on a much deeper level from my other family members: as a blogger, podcaster, and consultant, I felt what Julie was going through when writing to an undefined audience. I felt her pain of doing it day after day. I shared her triumph when the NYTimes discovered her and let the print-world learn about her.
See the movie on DVD if you need a pick-me-up… it's bound to give you a bit of cheer just when you need it.

One Way Links Into Your Site To Boost Traffic If you DIDN’T take advantage of this last week, be sure to look into it now. Here’s what I wrote before: "Get Thousands Of High Quality, One Way Links To Your Website! For Tons Of Affiliate Tools Increase Your Google Ranking By Getting Tons Of High Quality, One Way Links To Your Website!" Would you like a top Google ranking? And not only that… but would you like to KEEP your top ranking for many years after you get it? See, that's the problem with many search engine tactics these days. If you finally did manage to get a top ranking, you'll likely lose that ranking shortly therafter. To be quite frank, this sucks. This is not what anyone wants to happen to their website and business, especially after putting forth all that work to get the top ranking in the first place. Now, let me let you in on a little secret, shared by Brad Callen. It's actually not that difficult to get a website to the top of the search engines AND keep it there, with very little, if any "maintenance work" after you claim the #1 position. The secret is to get lots of high quality, high page rank websites to link to your website. While that in and of itself isn't really a huge secret, what I can tell you is that we've figured out a way to easily, and almost instantly get over 1,700 super high quality, 1 way links to point to our website(s) in less than an hours time. No kidding! And best of all, it takes very little work. To learn more about this incredibly easy way to get TONS of quality, one way links, visit the link below: That's how Internet software wunderkind Brad Callen describes this product. I have NOT used this product yet, though keep hearing great things about it. Brad has created many top-line products to help us create thriving businesses on the Internet, and like all his products it's guaranteed (or all of your money back). If this sounds like something you need, if you want lots of links pointing to your site, this is the product for you. For Many One Way Links Pointing To Your Website, Click Here! |

Differences Between Men and WomenPeople in relationships often have strong expectations that their partner will be just like they are: exhibit the same attitudes, values, perceptions, and behaviors. However, we know that you will not change your partner's attitudes and behaviors unless they themselves are motivated to do so. You are even less likely to change their basic gender characteristics. So it is very important to educate yourself as to the basic gender differences which exist between men and women, and accept the fact that the differences are there, they are real, and they are not going away. In this way you can learn to use the differences as a way to enrich your relationship rather than to damage it. Are Men and Women really different? Let's look at the evidence in a variety of areas of life. Note that these findings are generalizations and summaries that apply to most men or women, but not to all men or all women. 4.
