Ultimate Dads Success Ezine 022
Follow up when you have them interested!
I thought about you the other night.
For some reason Pam and I really enjoy The Food Network. I don’t cook, she CAN cook but doesn’t do it very often (I’m on my Nutrisystem much of the week and she eats a small meal), but we really enjoy many of the programs on the Network.
As they finished their New Network Star program and selected their winner (the winner got her own TV program), I expected some information about the new show.
We had been rooting for our favorite person to win, the celebration had begun, we knew the type program she’d create… and then: NOTHING.
No ad, no mention, no nothing.
The show finished taping weeks before it aired and from what they kept saying, the new show would premiere the following week.
They had us. They had is tuned in. They had us interested… they blew it.
Now I have NO idea where this new show is. Pam assures me that it’s on, but I don’t know when.
Keep this story in mind when thinking about your own business: you have people interested for a very short period. You get them all revved up, you have their attention, they’re right in front of you: SELL.
Never ceases to amaze me how good marketers (like The Food Network) can let something this simple slip through their fingers.
Charlie

How Can YOU Become A Professional BloggerHandling two of the Top 10 ways each week so that YOU can become a professional blogger (OR learn from professional bloggers so you can improve HOW you blog), here are two more I suggest: 5. To become a professional blogger writing on a regular basis is essential. I start each week by writing four blogs and add some to my main blog on UltimateWorkAtHomeDads.com as they come to me. I recommend that you write at least every other day for the first 4 months. By doing that, you will add lots of content so that someone visiting your site will see how serious you are. And don’t worry about making any money… that comes when you have great content and then attract a good following. If you have a favorite marketing method and will share it with all of us, I'll be sure to include your name and contact information here in our Ezine. Share Your Marketing Ideas Here! |

What Size Website Is Right For You?
Not all websites have to be large ones.
My website at UltimateWorkAtHomeDads grows by several articles, podcasts, and videos a week.
But if you are selling a specific product, you might want to have what some people call a Mini Site.
I happen to combine my Mini Sites into my larger sites rather than putting them out on their own where they struggle to get recognition from Google.
Take for example my SayItSoTheyBuyIt.com site. It has its own Domain Name, but all the materials (other than a redirect page which no one sees) are located here on UltimateWorkAtHomeDads.com
SayItSoTheyBuyIt – See for yourself. Click this link. Notice how it goes to the domain name, but then look at the domain name window in your browser and see you are back on THIS website.
So… don’t be intimidated: create a blog, create a mini site: use the website that works best for you for each circumstance.

Previous topics include: - I tell people that I’m “on a deadline” so that I won’t be asked to waste time that I should be working toward my goals. - I gave you a tip that I got from Dan Kennedy years ago: Only accept SCHEDULED telephone calls from clients. - I presented something that I’m “famous” for (and the envy of many of my friends stuck in a “job”): my DPS Time – Dreaming, Planning, Scheming. - I told you about SKYPE. - I told you to stay away from TV, radio, newspapers, etc until late in your day – keep your engine running well with positive, uplifting, spiritual or meaningful messages instead. - I suggested that you watch other industries, not just your own. - I said that you should join a local business group to stay in touch with others. - You also read about Setting Up A Blog. - And I urged you to use video in a blog. - You were urged to improve your writing online – it’s easy when you learn how! – I told you that people ask me if they should put their videos on YouTube and other video-sharing sites and I said Yes… and No! – I showed you how to create a Marketing CAMPAIGN every time to market something. - I presented information about the service you sell vs. a product. - When things go wrong around your home was a topic. - Then there was the topic of finding materials to blog about. - We chatted about emailing from your phone. - Then we chatted about the fun I discovered using video from my cell phone. - MeetUp.com – I told you how it helps gather people from around the area to meetings (and how YOU can set up your own). - Today, let’s think about creating a community service project that helps THEM and helps YOU. My family has been involved with the same Community Theater outside of Philadelphia in Swarthmore, PA USA for 5 generations. I started on the stage when I was 6, directed record-setting (attendance) major musicals, and have been their photographer for 6 years. Though I keep toying with directing again, I keep doing photography because I know how important the photographs are to me and my family – I have displays in my recreation room of shows my Dad was in, Mom was in, and shows my Dad directed. In my office, I have photographs of shows I was in and shows I directed. So THIS year as my blog is growing, I decided to create a video/public relations project to support the second show of the season: Into The Woods. I’ll do video plus stills and tell the behind-the-scenes story of actors participating in the production. I’ll show it on MY website and link it to the theater’s website. Oh, sure… it will be time consuming, but it will be fun, help them (and the arts REALLY need our support), and help me. Think about it for yourself… what can YOU do to help the community that will also help you? To learn more about one of MY products that help you with words, Click Here! Differences Between Men and WomenPeople in relationships often have strong expectations that their partner will be just like they are: exhibit the same attitudes, values, perceptions, and behaviors. However, we know that you will not change your partner's attitudes and behaviors unless they themselves are motivated to do so. You are even less likely to change their basic gender characteristics. So it is very important to educate yourself as to the basic gender differences which exist between men and women, and accept the fact that the differences are there, they are real, and they are not going away. In this way you can learn to use the differences as a way to enrich your relationship rather than to damage it. Are Men and Women really different? Let's look at the evidence in a variety of areas of life. Note that these findings are generalizations and summaries that apply to most men or women, but not to all men or all women. 5. CONFLICTS WHICH ARISE DUE TO BASIC DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN Women try to change men's behavior by offering unsolicited advice and criticism and becoming a home-improvement committee. Did you just hear something from a woman and thought it needed translation? Did you recently say something that was totally unintelligible by your spouse?
